Below are some suggestions for supplying digital files and common problems that are encountered with digital files. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our graphics department for further support.

Quick Reference Card

Graphics: EPS, TIFF of PDF format. Images must be at least 300 dpi or greater. Images submitted with less than 300 dpi are subject to pixilation during the ripping and plating process and will appear on the final project.

File Size/Bleeds: All files need to be built to the final trim size plus bleed.  So your file should be ¼” larger than the product file that you are purchasing.  (i.e. 2 x 3.5” business cards = 2.25” x 3.75” graphic file). When generating the file into the proper format, don’t use any crop printer’s marks for this will increase the dimensions of the design file.

Fonts/Text: If working out of vector based software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Freehand, all text must be converted to outlines or curves before generating the final PDF file. If working out of Adobe PhotoShop, simply flatten the image. Please also make sure that you are not using a font size smaller than 7 pt.
PostScript (two files for each font) or TrueType fonts (one font) are expected, PostScript fonts are preferred.

Resolution: We recommend that all images used should be 300dpi for printing purposes. Submitting files with a higher resolution than 300dpi is not necessary.

Colour: we require that all submitted files be saved in CMYK to ensure colour accuracy as all RGB submitted files are converted to CMYK.
